Chakra Healing

There’s no doubt we are living through a time of crisis. The right wing is on the rise in Portugal, following a European trend. While many of us may not agree with the parties people have voted for, and while we may be tempted to label their supporters as extremists, racists, xenophobes, etc, I believe democracy also means respecting others' votes and opinions, even when we disagree. By the way, the sign of Sagittarius reflects this energy, being the only sign with a weapon as a symbol in the whole zodiac, and it is also the sign of justice and of the truth. Curious, right?

If the rise of the right feels intolerable, then we must reflect more deeply: why is this happening? This is not a time to spread hate or division, but a time to be conscious of our own actions and to keep advocating for human rights, and justice. Often, societies must go through extremes to wake up and change. This is not a cliche, that’s reality.

I also think of a country close to my heart: Bangladesh. Its people lived under a dictatorship born from the very man who liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan in 1971. Later, his daughter, Sheikh Hasina, continued this legacy, suppressing civil society and prioritising economic growth above ALL else. Then, in August 2024, something extraordinary happened: a student-led revolution united the people and forced her to flee from her own home in a helicopter to India. Today, I see activists—like my dear friend Rizwana Hasan, a respected environmental advocate and activist—serving right now in the interim government. Did you hear about this in the news? Maybe not. This story inspires me deeply. It doesn't mean Bangladesh will instantly become a more equal or just society—change takes time. But it’s a reminder that people can lead change. And that gives me hope.

Just look at the decades-long crisis in the Middle East—that’s a stark example of what happens when extremism and injustice go unchecked. So ask yourself: is this really just about left or right?

May’s Habit: Cook Fresh. Eat Fresh. Be Healthier.

In Ayurveda, freshly cooked food is essential for maintaining health and preventing the buildup of toxins in the body (Ama), which are the cause of the majority of diseases in Ayurveda. Meals that are repeatedly reheated or frozen for long periods lose their vital energy (Prana), the subtle life force that nourishes body, mind, and spirit. Ideally, food should be consumed within 4 hours of cooking. While occasional leftovers are acceptable, Ayurveda discourages eating food stored for more than 24 hours, as it becomes stale and harder to digest, increasing the risk of toxin accumulation.

Fresh food is richer in nutrients, easier to digest, and supports the creation of Ojas, our body’s source of vitality.

🍽️ What you should know:
• Food starts to degrade as soon as it’s cooked — even in the fridge. Transformation caused by heat has already started.
• Freezing slows down decay but doesn’t stop it. Ideally, only raw ingredients should be frozen.
• Stored food = less Prana = more strain on digestion

🕐 Best Practice:
Eat food within 4 hours of cooking.
Avoid keeping and eating food for more than 24 hours.
Skip the microwave — it destroys all the nutrition you might have on your food.
It is very important to plan both your weekly meals and the right quantity to cook — enough to nourish, not to waste.

✅ January: Maintain regularity in lifestyle—consistent wake-up, sleep, and meal times. ⏰
✅ February: Start tongue scraping daily for better oral and digestive health. 👅✨

Vishakha is the only nakshatra ruled by two deities: Indra, the god of divine life force (prana), and Agni, the god of fire and willpower. This dual rulership offers both confidence and drive, but when unbalanced, can also bring jealousy, pride, or competitiveness, from within ourselves or reflected back to us from others. This energy is now amplified by the fact that the Sun is exalted in Aries, opposite to the Full Moon, as the Sun can be overly confident and egoistic depending on the Sun's natal position in one’s chart.

Vishakha’s symbol is, among others, an archway, representing a gateway or a path forward. Its unique shakti is vyapana shakti, “the power to penetrate through all things”. But it reminds us that progress may not be immediate, yet the determination and devotion to continue besides the obstacles is what matters most. Burnout is defined by the World Health Organization as a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed. It is characterised by three key dimensions: feelings of energy depletion or exhaustion; increased mental distance from one’s job, or feelings of negativism or cynicism related to it; and reduced professional efficacy.

Notice how this definition focuses primarily on work performance rather than the emotional and personal toll it takes. It frames burnout in terms of productivity at work, not really the human experience.

But burnout is much deeper than just stress at work. It can also be understood and seen in our birth charts. This means that there is a genetic predisposition to burnout, making some individuals more vulnerable than others. In astrology, I have seen Mars always being involved, representing energy, drive, and ambition but in an uncontrolled way. The 12th house also plays a role, reflecting lack of boundaries and difficulties in setting limits with oneself and,as a consequence, with others.

Burnout often serves as a wake-up call. Like many health crises, it forces us to stop and reassess our lives. But must we always wait for collapse before making a change? No—we don’t have to. Too often, it’s only after reaching the breaking point that we recognise the need for transformation. A few words about the solar eclipse of tomorrow!

Also worth it to mention that while all planets, including Mars, connect with Pisces, as I have mentioned in the video, all planets aspect Ketu in Virgo at the same time. For me, this indicates ecological disasters involving the oceans which can cause health crisis. And these events have a spiritual purpose even if we don’t understand it with our minds. We have been so much disconnected from our Mother that we think we can control everything, until we realise that the only thing we can control is our own actions. Even our own actions are often dominated by unconscious patterns, also known as karmic patterns. We repeat these until we get conscious about them. Then we want to believe that we have 100% free will. A topic for an interesting discussion! ☺️

Saturn will guide us all through these processes - slow and steady!

Wheat is the most consumed grain in the Western world. It is building for the body and nutritious. It is best taken in the form of non-yeasted bread. Avoid consuming chemical yeast, choose sourdough instead.The problem isn’t wheat itself-it’s refined wheat, and the source of wheat that we get nowadays! Favour organic. All grains should be consumed whole as long as they are well cooked.

White flour is overly processed,clogs the intestines interfering in nutrient absorption,dulls the mind,and can contribute to health issues like:

⚠️ Digestive problems(colitis, diverticulitis, food allergies)
⚠️ Increased mucus,congestion & inflammation
⚠️ Chronic diseases (high blood pressure, cancer, arthritis)

White refined grains create disease as they derange our Agni (digestive capacity).They prevent the absorption of micronutrients since they are covered with a glue-kind of substance.

Whole grains are so superior nutritionally.

Wheat flour should be used within a maximum of two weeks after milling or it becomes rancid. When combined with animal products you should know that the use of refined grains with meat is responsible for many modern diseases like cancer of the colon, diverticulitis, colic and food allergies. This makes an environment perfect for the breeding of disease, clogging or congesting the channels or arteries, increasing blood pressure and contributing to the formation of cancerous cells in the body.

👉 Stick to WHOLE grains for better digestion, nutrient absorption, and overall health. Switching to whole grains can even help eliminate allergies!

⚠️ Children: Avoid giving babies dairy or refined grains before 6 months—this can lead to allergies later in life! This is because the baby does not yet have the enzymes necessary to digest these kinds of foods. Ayurveda perspective on introducing food to babies is in many aspects different from modern medicine.

🌾 Whole grains are whole foods and so have a broad action on the body, one of which is to clean out the intestines from a buildup of undigested foods (Ama).

This is because the baby does not yet have the enzymes necessary to digest these kinds of foods. Ayurveda perspective on introducing food to babies is in many aspects different from modern medicine.

🌾 Whole grains are whole foods and so have a broad action on the body, one of which is to clean out the intestines from a buildup of undigested foods (Ama).

Inspiration of the week ✨

No card deck message this week as I was in a long weekend retreat, away from internet. A beautiful retreat hosted by Matheus from @vidaveda_ , and I am very grateful for the space he held for us to growth.

✨ My inspiration for this week is that we invite and allow ourselves to stay silent for 10min. 10min from 24h of the day is not much, is it? even if we don’t count the hours of sleep ☺️ of course. Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, focus and observe your breath. Whenever your mind goes away, you bring it back to your breath. Over and over again …

In the week of the lunar eclipse 🌕 and with the eclipse season starting to intensify from now on, all distractions, especially the overstimulating ones, will not help us going through the process of eclipses, the processes that eclipses open up for us as opportunities to grow individually and collectively.

Inspiration of the week ✨

No card deck message this week as I was in a long weekend retreat, away from internet. A beautiful retreat hosted by Matheus from @vidaveda_ , and I am very grateful for the space he held for us to growth.

✨ My inspiration for this week is that we invite and allow ourselves to stay silent for 10min. 10min from 24h of the day is not much, is it? even if we don’t count the hours of sleep ☺️ of course. Find a comfortable position, close your eyes, focus and observe your breath. Whenever your mind goes away, you bring it back to your breath. Over and over again …

✨ Another invitation is that we take the time to reflect on the time we spend on the phone. 💡 March’s Habit: Stop Snacking All Day!

🚫 Why Avoid Snacking?
- Frequent snacking disrupts digestion and metabolism.
- Eating different times a day doesn’t give your body time to properly digest your food. 👉 Consequence: accumulation of Ama (toxins), which will affect our health in short, mid and long term.

🥗 Focus on Three Balanced Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner should be your main sources of nourishment. Eating nourishing meals prevents cravings.

For people with Vata in their constitution: If you eat dinner late due to work, a small snack between 4–5 pm might be recommended. Choose nuts or dried fruit instead of sweets.

For people with Pitta in their constitution: Longer periods of more than six hours without food create hyperacid and acid reflux conditions. It is better to eat substantial meals and avoid snacking

For people with Kapha in their constitution: Snacking should be avoided at all times of the day.

Past Habits to Continue or Introduce:

☕️ Coffee is the most widely consumed stimulant in the Western world, acting as a nervine, diuretic, purgative, cardiac stimulant, and mild narcotic. In Ayurveda, it is considered Rajasic, stimulating the mind and body but also contributing to restlessness and addiction. It is dry, acidic, mobile, and bitter in its qualities, and can dehydrate the body over time, though these effects often go unnoticed until one stops drinking it.

Coffee can boost energy, improve low blood pressure, and provide temporary relief from depression. However, regular consumption poses health risks, including increased cholesterol levels and mineral depletion, as coffee leaches calcium and essential nutrients from the bones. It is not recommended during pregnancy, though this is rarely discussed in medical advice. When combined with a high-fat, animal-based diet, coffee has been linked to breast and bladder cancer in women and pancreatic cancer and heart disease in men.

Coffee affects individuals differently based on their constitution (dosha). It is especially harmful for people with Vata and Pitta in their constitutions and with Vata and Pitta imbalances, which account for a large portion of the population. Coffee’s drying nature leads to anxiety, irregular digestion, nervous system depletion, menstrual pain, acidity, and sleep disturbances.

When taken, coffee can be paired with milk (including plant-based milk) and cardamom, which help counteract its dryness. However, it still increases air, ether, fire and water elements (Vata and Pitta) over time. People with Kapha dominance (earth and water) may benefit from coffee, as its light and stimulating nature can help counteract Kapha’s heaviness. Yet, even for them, daily consumption should be avoided to prevent dependency.

According to Ayurveda, coffee moves vital energy upwards and outwards, depleting immunity, the body’s source of vitality and nourishment.

On February 27, we welcome a New Moon in Aquarius, positioned in the Shatabhishak constellation. Symbolized by a hundred stars and a circle, Shatabhishak represents wholeness, healing, and deep introspection. This New Moon is the Amavasya preceded by Mahāśivarātri, bringing its energy of purification and transformation.

Shatabhishak embodies Aquarius’ well-known healing power, reminding us that it is the nakshatras that truly give depth and meaning to the zodiac signs. Varuna, the God of the Oceans and Seas, presides over this nakshatra, holding the ability to heal and rejuvenate through mystical herbs and medicine. Mahāśivarātri is a sacred Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva, observed annually on the 14th night (Chaturdashi) of Krishna Paksha (the waning moon) in the lunar month of Phalguna, typically falling between February and March. During this time, the Sun is always in Aquarius, and the festival occurs just before Amavasya (New Moon) in Aquarius.

According to Hindu mythology, when the Devas (gods) and Asuras (demons) churned the cosmic ocean (Samudra Manthan) to obtain Amrit (nectar of immortality), many divine and powerful elements emerged. However, along with them came a deadly poison so potent that it threatened to destroy the entire universe. In this moment of crisis, Lord Shiva, out of boundless compassion, drank the poison to save creation. Instead of swallowing it, he held it in his throat, which turned blue due to its immense potency—thus earning him the name Neelkanth (The Blue-Throated One). It is believed that this event took place on the night of Mahāśivarātri.

Tomorrow, we welcome a profound Full Moon in Ashlesha, a lunar mansion within Cancer. This isn’t just any Full Moon—it illuminates one of the three gandanta points, or karmic knots, in the zodiac. And it is one of the five Full Moons happening at 29 degrees in a row. Gandanta means “the knot at the end”—a deep, tangled issue within us that resists unraveling. The harder we try to untie it, the tighter it becomes. When planets are placed in gandanta positions, they face uncertainty as they try to unravel the secret knot that will take them on to the next level. Gandanta issues are manifested in personal relationships, traumatic events or inner struggles.

Ashlesha is a lunar mansion within a group of six stars in the Hydra constellation, forming the celestial female water snake. It embodies the intense desire to embrace whatever it focuses on. Symbolised by a coiled serpent, Ashlesha is governed by Ahi, the Naga—a deity of wisdom and hidden knowledge. Ashlesha represents the kundalini or the serpent fire coiled at the base of the spine, the dormant spiritual power. When coiled (asleep), there are a lot of material attachments. When activated, this energy can bring mystical power, electrifying shakti and spiritual enlightenment, freeing us from all bondage. And Ashlesha is one of the most attached stars.

✨ A New Habit Each Month - According to Ayurvedic Principles! 🌿

Let’s introduce healthy habits… one habit at a time, one habit a month! 🌟

Dina means day, and charya means routine/regime/what has to be performed. In Ayurveda, dinacharya is essential to promote day-to-day health and longevity by keeping the managers of our bodies (Doshas) balanced. Tongue scraping has been part of dinacharya for thousands of years. Through the tongue, our body releases part of the toxins that have been collected throughout the body at night, through the work of Vata Dosha (Vyana Vayu). It shows the toxins present in our gastrointestinal tract.

💡 February’s Habit: Starting to clean your tongue first thing in the morning!

1️⃣ Start to cultivate the habit of observing your tongue first thing in the morning, regarding colour, and any coating present.

2️⃣ Gently scrape your tongue a few times. Preferably use a copper tongue scraper.

3️⃣ Brush your teeth. Avoid toothpastes with fluoride, and, if possible, choose one with natural ingredients, and based on an Ayurvedic formula.

4️⃣Do it daily.

Anything more than a very thin coating on your tongue, Ayurveda considers to be a sign of Ama (toxins) accumulation in the digestive system and it should be removed to prevent re-absorption. Modern scientific studies have identified tongue scraping also lowering halitosis (bad breath).

You can add the tongue scraper to the habit of January: keeping regularity in times of waking up, sleeping and eating. You can still start, and incorporate the 2nd healthy habit - cleaning your tongue with a tongue scraper!

It’s like stepping into a world where everything glows with an ethereal light, where love feels cosmic, and success seems inevitable. But as beautiful as it all appears, these planets together weave a web of illusion that can blur the lines between fantasy and reality.

Rahu amplifies Venus’s desires, making love, luxury, and pleasure feel irresistible. It shows us what we want to see, not necessarily what reality is.
